This quilt is titled, Bismuth, which is a an element from the periodic table. In it's raw form it is a silver metal. When it is warmed and cooled slowly, it grows into beautiful multicolored square metallic crystals. The colored portion of the quilt references the Bismuth crystals while the silver big stitch quilting hints at its metallic beginnings.
