What started as large, precision piecing in a freezer paper technique class by Nicole Neblett (design created by me), led to a more free form improvisational finish. I loved the design that emerged from this process, where interesting shapes and angles on top juxtapose with the precision piecing of the bottom. I combined hand and machine quilting in varied substrates of thread to further explore the concept of layering in this quilt.
