Every year, 16K US kids are diagnosed with cancer. Because research is grossly underfunded, even children who survive often have lasting side effects of treatment. Even worse, some cancers, like DIPG have a 0% survival rate. Even so, there is a growing hope and vision of a day when childhood cancers can be cured and when treatments are not poisonous to our children. This quilt is a reminder for all the good things that are and are yet to be.
