Are you ready to assist individuals with complex communication needs during a disaster? This session explores resources for supporting Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users during all stages of the disaster cycle. Sample communication boards appropriate for both emergencies and disasters will be provided to each participant.
Part B: Partners in Policy: A Connecticut Leadership and Advocacy Success Story
The Connecticut Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (CT UCEDD) brokers knowledge between academia and the community. It has developed trainings and resources for people with disabilities, and leadership trainees worked to educate state legislators, who ultimately passed a first-responders law for people with communication differences
