Mumps has been a recurring problem in Texas among migrants from Central America, with outbreaks spreading as a result of detainee transfers. In contrast, an outbreak in the Harris County jail with several thousand inmates has included control measures, including vaccination and quarantine of pods. This session focuses on those outbreaks, and the surveillance and control measures employed in each.
