Medical Director, Infection Prevention and Control & Occupational Health
Dr. Nyquist is a Professor of Pediatrics in the section of Infectious Disease and Epidemiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Colorado School of Public Health. Her infectious disease clinical practice is based at Children’s Hospital Colorado where she serves as the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control and Occupational Health.
She is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine, completed her pediatric residency at UCLA and her Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship and Masters of Science in Public Health at the University of Colorado. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) and a member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) and the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA). She serves on national leadership roles on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Infectious Diseases and Infectious Diseases of America Leadership Development Committee. She has served on the Advisory Panel for the SHEA/CDC Outbreak Response Training Program and is the principal investigator for the High Risk Infectious Pathogen program funded by the Colorado Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response. Her clinical and research interests include healthcare epidemiology and infection control, healthcare disparities and pediatric infectious diseases.
