Public Health Analyst

DeAndrea Martinez, MPH, BS serves as a Public Health Analyst (Policy and Issues Management) for the Program Planning and Development Unit, within the Division of State and Local Readiness (DSLR). She joined the division in 2009. Mrs. Martinez works on advancing DSLR program requirements, refining capability standards, and developing performance measures.
Mrs. Martinez has exceptional skills in program management, evaluation, program development, and communication. She has served in a variety of leadership roles: Health Scientist, Public Health Analyst, and Epidemiology. In these roles, she had opportunity to assist with advancing public health preparedness and response capabilities at public health agencies.
Prior to joining CDC in January 2008, DeAndrea worked as a Radiation Therapy at Wellstar Health System in Marietta, GA. Mrs. Martinez holds a Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Public Health from Emory University. She is an active member of the community service committee of the Emory CDC Employee Board Association.
