Jeni Busick graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education, minoring in Psychology. She also attained an Associate of Science Degree in Health Information from Boise State University. As a Health Education Specialist, currently, and for the past three years, she works as the Public Health Preparedness Training and Exercise Coordinator and Medical Reserve Unit Coordinator for Southeastern Idaho Public Health (Pocatello, Idaho). Prior to that, she worked as a 911 Communications Officer dispatching police, fire, and EMS. During these 12 years, Jeni has worked in reactive and proactive elements of emergencies and disasters and has built and maintained relationships with public officials and colleagues from various disciplines within the Emergency Management and First Responder related fields. Jeni routinely works with volunteers, various public, private, and non-profit community partners, as well as community members, to help them work toward better emergency preparedness, resiliency in the wake of disaster, and quicker and more cohesive recovery from emergencies and disasters. Jeni serves as Logistics Section Chief for her agency as part of their Initial Response Team, Logistics Section Chief for the State of Idaho Region 3 Type 3 Incident Management and Support Team, Vice President for the East Idaho chapter of Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), and is a volunteer with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team. Jeni enjoys being involved in her community both personally and professionally. As ISU Alumni, both Jeni and her husband enjoy being ISU Athletic Boosters, tailgating and attending ISU football games, other ISU sporting events, and supporting local high school events. As proud empty-nesters, they also enjoy spending time with their two adult daughters and their families, hunting, fishing, camping, attending concerts and music festivals, and each riding their Triumph motorcycles wherever the twisty roads take them.
