Community Resilience Officer

Alison Hare is the Community Resilience Officer with the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response at Harris County Public Health (HCPH). She is working on strengthening community resilience throughout Harris County and integrating community resilience in all of Harris County Public Health work. Alison was the Lead for the Community Assessment Task Force during HCPH's response to Hurricane Harvey, and was the Operations Chief for five Community Assessments for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER) after the storm. Alison initiated the resilience measurement process and led the RISE Workgroup to develop the structure and subsequent organization of the RISE Framework. Alison has eight years of experience in disaster preparedness and response locally, nationally, and internationally. She has a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and over 10 years of experience in international development, and program development and management. Alison received her Bachelor's degree in Government and International Relations from the Universidad Externado de Colombia in Bogota, Colombia where she focused in environmental resilience and sustainability.
