Administrative Services Analyst II, Emergency Preparedness
Glenn County Public Health
Mary Thomas has served as an Administrative Services Analyst in the Glenn County Public Health Emergency Preparedness program for the last two years. Prior to that she was in the agriculture industry for 18 years and was also an accountant for the Glenn County Health & Human Services Agency.
During the Camp Fire, she was part of the team that opened a Glenn County shelter in support of neighboring Butte County. Mary then transitioned to the role of Director of the Care and Shelter Branch of the Glenn County Operational Area EOC, which involved day-to-day operations at the shelter site as well as time in the EOC. The shelter, which had a maximum census of over 200, was managed by Glenn County staff for eight days prior to being turned over to the state.
Mary works in the Glenn County Public Health Emergency Preparedness program under the direction of the Deputy Director of Glenn County OES. As the program analyst, she helps design, develop and deliver emergency preparedness training and exercises, as well as writes and updates response plans. She recently developed a shelter Field Operations Guide for the county based on lessons learned from the Glenn County Camp Fire Shelter.
