Eva is the Equity and Special Projects Coordinator for the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR). She is a co-lead of the OEPR for Equity Workgroup that led the implementation for a racial equity tool for building equity principles into emergency preparedness planning. Her work also includes facilitating learning opportunities for OEPR staff on the application of racial equity and social justice to public health emergency preparedness and conducting and analyzing a biennial staff survey on staff perceptions of equity principles to inform strategic planning. She also supports the Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Preparedness and Response with communication with agency, local, and national stakeholders and day-to-day operations. During the 2019 measles outbreak, she served multiple roles to support the health department’s response. Eva holds a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University.
