Sr. Emergency Management Advisor to US Virgin Islands Department of Health
LCDR James Gooch is a Senior Emergency Manager at CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health. He is currently assigned to the US Virgin Islands Department of Health to provide technical assistance with public health recovery following the 2017 hurricanes. LCDR Gooch previously served as the Deputy Field Coordinator and Public Health Branch Chief under FEMA’s Recovery sector for Health and Social Services. LCDR Gooch has over 10 years experience in emergency management and community organizing. He received his Baccalaureate of Arts in Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development from Rollins College and a Master of Public Health in Global Environmental Health from Emory University.
