Ms. Anne (Belle) Griffin is research nurse for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). As a Clinical Investigator for the Veterans Emergency Management Evaluation Center (VEMEC), she supports VA’s public health preparedness and response capabilities within clinical settings. She also leads VEMEC’s role in supporting and leading the Disaster Nursing Call to Action, a collaborative effort to create a national nursing workforce with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to respond to disasters and public health emergencies in a timely and effective manner. Additionally, she serves as project manager for activities related to the Transitions in Geriatric Surgery project at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
As an active registered nurse with experience in the fields of neurosurgery, peri-operative nursing and public health, she has provided direct patient care and staff management in various rural and urban healthcare settings, including community and academic hospitals. Prior to joining VEMEC, she worked as a research project manager for the RAND Corporation. Her international experience includes numerous surgical missions with Virginia Children’s Connection and Operation Smile International.
