Public Safety Administrator
St. Louis Area Regional Response System
Dale is the St. Louis region’s Program Manager for the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) and Preparing Communities for Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attacks (CCTA) grants. Supporting the development of the region’s health care coalition to address the evolving threats and hazards faced in the region has been an exciting challenge, bringing years of regional hospital and public health preparedness together with other health care providers. Integrating health care partners (hospitals, public health, EMS, and others) with the CCTA program became clear in the early development of the program, with many non-hospital agencies recognizing the unique challenges faced by hospitals in mass casualty incidents. As the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) coordinator for the regional training and exercise program as well as the annual Threat & Hazard Identification Risk Assessment, Dale is regularly engaged with over a dozen subcommittees and workgroups that make up the Urban Area Work Group. Coordination with regional public health PHEP activities, Community Readiness Initiative (CRI) program, and other statewide initiatives relies on a team approach that Dale is excited to be a part of. Dale’s prior experience managing an American Red Cross Community Office has provided a background in disaster services response and whole community planning that supports his current role of preparing for the next evolving threat.
