Regional Program Coordinator, St. Louis CCTA
Althea Avice de Guzman is an emergency management professional with over seven years of experience in healthcare and project management, focusing specifically on active threat preparedness. Currently, Ms. de Guzman provides on-site support to the St. Louis Region through a 2-year campaign of preparedness activities to strengthen the region’s response capabilities across two states, eight counties, and over 200 municipalities.
The St. Louis Regional Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack (CCTA) Program includes planning, training, and exercises surrounding rescue task force concepts, special operations integration, unified and area command, and intelligence and information sharing. Althea is a skilled facilitator and planner with technical experience implementing mass notification systems and leveraging technology to design innovative and interactive, HSEEP-guided exercises for participants.
After graduating from the University of Chicago, she returned to the Threat and Response Management masters program to teach emerging professionals to understand the complex system dynamics in emergency management and homeland security in partnership with Argonne National Laboratory.
