Event 201 is an international tabletop exercise that highlights the key contributions of private sector companies and financial institutions for pandemic response, as well as potential impacts of pandemics on these sectors. The exercise, conducted in October 2019 in New York, brought together national health officials and private sector leaders to tackle some of these complex policy challenges in the midst of an emerging pandemic. This session offers key lessons from the exercise and will present recommendations that outline key policy mechanisms and principles to promote effective public-private collaboration in order to develop and maintain resilient health and economic systems that can withstand the severe impacts of a potentially catastrophic pandemic.
