To build the international first-class crop phenotyping study group, NAU has set up the “Plant Phenotyping Research Center (PPRC)”. To effectively run all the plant phenotyping platforms, the PPRC will be an independent research unit out of other colleges in the university. PPRC will cover all the relevant areas of plant phenomics, such as phenotyping sensor development, intelligent manufacturing, automation and navigation, imaging acquisition and processing, IoT, all-omics big data cloud, integrated design. Several related PI teams will be organized in each area. The center implements the policy of “special academic zone” and provides excellent development platform and guarantee for talents. Four sub-platforms will be included as, the main sub-platform of phenotyping, the environmental control sub-platform, the big data cloud and data processing sub-platform, the supporting sub-platform. The phenotyping sub-platform will include the field phenotyping facilities in all-scale carry/driven systems; The environmental control sub-platforms will include the growth chambers for simulating the abiotic stress factors; The big data cloud sub-platform aims to collect and processing the phenome data, and for further correlation link analysis between the phenome data and data from other; The supporting sub-platform includes the storage bock for the plant materials and related laboratories and living services.
