Earlier this year, AAPS asked its members, “Do you feel that discrimination based on race, gender, or sexual orientation affects the pharmaceutical sciences community, including professional meetings and workplaces?” Members said, “Yes!” Many members reported witnessing discrimination as well as experiencing it themselves, and they asked the AAPS Board of Directors to make this issue a priority. Join us for a panel discussion focused on empowering scientists to make change in their workplaces, particularly in the hard-to-access reaches of the C-suite. Our panelists will discuss strategies for building a diverse organization. The conversation will touch on how boards determine who to put in the C-suite, and how to build a pipeline so that a diverse pool of candidates can be accessed when an opportunity appears. Attend this panel discussion if you’d like to help your organization become more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
