The objective of my presentation is to provide an overview of the different modeling and simulation approaches used for in vitro in vivo extrapolation. The approaches can be established at various levels of complexity, ranging from data driven and descriptive to fully mechanistic approaches. Examples for each of these approaches and their application for bridging the gap between in vitro, animals, and humans will be provided. Special attention will be given to modeling approaches using emerging animal/human-on-a-chip data.
