My name is Samuel A. Sprowls. Currently I am a PhD. candidate in my fourth year at West Virginia University in the Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences Graduate Program. My dissertation project is using a combinatorial approach investigating novel therapeutic and functional treatments for brain metastasis from a number of primary cancers, mostly focusing on those as a result of metastatic progression from breast and lung cancers. My experise lies in evaluting the blood-brain barrier in terms of integrity and permeability regarding therapeutics for metastatic disease. The techniques employed in my reserach include, but are not limited to multimodal quantitative phosphorescent and fluorescent imgaing, quantitative qutoradiography, in-situ brain perfusions, brain microvascular capillary isolation, pre-clinical radiation and ultrasound implementation, ect. I would be happy to speak more with anyone who is interested in learning more about my research or the methods involved.
