Raxit Mehta is currently working as a Principal Scientist at Colorcon. Inc. In his current role, he is responsible for developing novel technical applications for the excipients, coatings and polymers offered by Colorcon. His current research is focused on understanding the role of the excipient selection to protect the moisture sensitive drugs. He regularly made meaningful scientific contribution on the taste masking technology, Ion Exchange Resins screening, quality by design aspects of barrier membrane coatings and development of robust hydrophilic matrix formulations. He has over 15 years of formulation and process development experience related to solid oral dosage forms. Prior to joining Colorcon, Mr. Mehta worked at Interpharm, Inc. (now known as Amneal Pharmaceuticals) and Capricorn Pharma Inc., where he was involved in developing modified and immediate release formulations. Mr. Mehta has earned ME in Chemical Engineering from City College of City University of New York and BS in Chemical Engineering from Nirma Institute of Technology, Gujarat, India.
He is a regular contributor to the AAPS conference and served as a chair of the Excipient Community during 2019. He has authored several peer reviewed journal articles and several international conference presentations.
