André Beringhs holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil). He is currently a graduate research and teaching assistant at the University of Connecticut (Storrs, CT USA), where he is also enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics) as a Ph.D. candidate. André teaches Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutics to first year Pharm.D. students at the University of Connecticut. His research is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Xiuling Lu, whose focus lies within the pharmaceutical nanotechnology field. André's research involves, more specifically - the development of polymer-based nanoparticle platforms carrying contrast agents to improve cancer diagnostics via X-Ray Computed Tomography as well as the development of innovative release methodologies for ointment formulations.
