Professor/Director Renewable Energy and Sustainability Center at FSC
Presentation Description: The energy world is transitioning to a cleaner grid with the integration of renewable energy sources, such as wind. The change in our energy future will be fueled through the actions of women leaders who already play a very significant role in this field. The main focus of this session will be the various opportunities and careers in Offshore Wind. In addition, it aims to cultivate leadership, diversity and inspire women to take part in the economic development opportunities provided by this new and exciting industry in US. This panel comprised of a varied cross-section of industry leaders will begin by a short overview of the current plans and state of OSW in states, by focusing on the pivotal role of this industry in meeting the economic and clean energy goals of the state. In addition, each panelist describes the role of their prospective industries as well as some NYS and US specific challenges. The hope is that the future of the OSW industry movers and shakers will have a fresh look – one that is diverse and inclusive, and one that provides economic development benefits for all.
