Steve MacLeod is a lead environmental scientist at WSP through recent merger with Ecology and Environment, Inc (E & E). He specializes in offshore resource impact assessment and regulatory review for large-scale energy and coastal infrastructure projects, including planning for offshore G&G surveys. Since joining E & E in 2011 (now WSP), he has assisted clients along the U.S. Gulf, East Coast, and Great Lakes with environmental reviews and federal/state permit applications for onshore and offshore linear infrastructure and wind energy project siting projects. This includes support for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's development and implementation of the New York Offshore Wind Master Plan.
Before joining E & E, Steve worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, where he coordinated the evaluation of local and federal shoreline protection projects. He was also responsible for reviewing dredge/fill projects in intracoastal waterways and deepwater ports throughout the state.
Steve holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Puget Sound and a M.S. in Oceanography (Coastal Zone Management) from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is currently President of The Coastal Society, a non-profit organization that promotes education and dialogue to support the wise use of coastal resources.
