Sterile Compounding Clinic: Employee Training and Qualification in Aseptic Practice

This session provides attendees with a comprehensive review of aseptic principles and the procedures performed under carefully controlled conditions with the goal of minimizing contamination by pathogens during the compounding process. This session will prepare attendees to implement a comprehensive employee training and qualification program for working in classified areas and performing aseptic procedures to prepare compounded sterile products in compliance with current USP standards.
Review the minimum requirements for employee training and qualification according to the proposed revision to USP Chapter <797> published June 2019.
Review strategies and techniques for developing an effective employee training program
Discuss the cleanroom culture and how to create an atmosphere that promotes quality and safety
Define the scope of aseptic practices and the array of actions and conditions that promote maintaining sterility when compounding parenteral products.
Articulate the principles of working in a variety of laminar airflow (ISO 5) environment
Understand the purpose of conducting personnel training and competency assessments.
