71 - Management of Genitourinary Symptoms During and after Breast Cancer Treatment

Treatments for breast cancer such as adjuvant endocrine therapy may negatively impact QoL and result in early discontinuation of treatment and poor treatment compliance. These symptoms may be prevented, reduced and managed with early recognition and appropriate treatment. This talk will provide an overview of the epidemiology and management of genitourinary symptoms in women during and after breast cancer treatment.

Review epidemiology of genitourinary syndrome of menopause.
Discuss nonhormonal approaches to management of genitourinary symptoms in women with breast cancer.
Explain the evidence for safety of vaginal hormonal and laser therapies in women with breast cancer.
