Bradley N. Axelrod, Ph.D. completed his bachelor’s in psychology at the University of Illinois, and his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Wayne State University. He has served as Director of Neuropsychology Services at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Detroit Michigan for over 27 years.
Dr. Axelrod is actively involved in the clinical training of psychology interns, post-docs, and practicum students as well as medical residents and fellows. He has trained over 75 interns in neuropsychology, with 35 continuing on for postdoctoral training.
In addition to clinical work, he is was researched the reliability and validity of existing neuropsychological measures, having published 20 book chapters, over 160 articles, and more than 200 research presentations. In publishing, he has coauthored with over 175 different individuals, 30 of whom were interns or practicum students at the VA. In 2012, Dr. Axelrod published the book, Dissertation Solutions: A Concise Guide to Planning, Implementing, and Surviving the Dissertation Process to assist doctoral students in completing their dissertations. In 2017, he looks forward to the publication of treatment manuals Cognitive Behavioral Protocols for Medical Settings authored by LaBuda, Axelrod, and Windell.
He has served on the editorial boards of seven neuropsychology-oriented journals and performs reviews for over 35 other journals in psychology and neuropsychology.
Dr. Axelrod is a Fellow of the Society of Clinical Neuropsychology and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. He is boarded by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology and of the American Academy of Assessment Psychology.
