Denish Moorthy is a Senior Technical Advisor on USAID Advancing Nutrition, USAID flagship nutrition project. He manages its micronutrient investment portfolio for the project. Prior to his current position, he was the Team Lead and Technical Advisor for Micronutrients at the USAID-funded Strengthening Partnerships, Results, and Innovations in Nutrition Globally project (SPRING) project in Washington, D.C. He is a physician-methodologist who has been working in the field of micronutrient malnutrition for over 15 years. His portfolio of research, training, and technical activities is related to anemia in East and West Africa and Central Asia. His areas of expertise include micronutrient reduction programs including fortification and supplementation, systematic reviews and meta-analyses in health and nutrition, monitoring and evaluation of interventions, teaching/training in research methods, health systems strengthening, nutrigenomics, and thyroid disorders. Denish has a medical degree from Mysore University in India and a degree in food policy and applied nutrition from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy in Boston.
