1.0 Patient Care CEU - The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the medical community to “build the airplane while it is taking off on the runway,” and much has been learned in the past few months. COVID-19 has proven to be a highly contagious virus that can cause serious illness, especially in the vulnerable elderly population in Long Term Care Facilities. Treatment of COVID-19 has been rapidly evolving as well. This presentation will review the range of common presentations of COVID-19 infection in the LTCF population, and delve into treatment strategies, from medications to therapy and other interventions. We will take an evidence-based approach, and also touch on what is on the horizon of COVID-19 treatment and management.
