Psychotraumatologist
traumacenter Belgium
Sint Margriete, Oost-Vlaanderen
Since 1990 I’m working in my private practice.
In 2009 I founded Traumacentre Belgium
As a psychotherapist, I am trained in Gestalt therapy, Group Therapy, Transpersonal Psychology. My training in child therapy was based on the integrative psychology.
Later on, I became intrigued by trauma and its effects and undertook trainings in psychotraumatology. These different courses turned me into a therapist with a broad vision on pathology, its causes and opportunities to heal.
As I felt deeply interested in attachment issues, I specialized in early-childhood trauma in an attachment relationship.
In the last 10 years I have become interested in the blend of neuroscience with psychology.
I have followed a one-year training with Bruce Perry and attended different workshops, presentations etc. about neuroscience, both on-line and at congresses. Presenters included Dan Siegel, Bruce Perry, Pat Ogden, Kathy Steele etc.
I undertake considerable self-education, reading books related to neuroscience and therapy (Porges, Panksepp, Siegel, Schore…)
My work is based on this integration of neuroscience and psychology and Interpersonal Neurobiology.
