Dr Peter Lim is senior consultant rehabilitation physician and founding Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Singapore General Hospital, Singapore. His postgraduate medical training was at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University Medical School where he completed board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and subspecialty certification in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.
His academic appointments include Clinical Professor, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, and Adjunct Associate Professor, Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. He is an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and International Advisory Board member for the Annals of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Turkish Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr Lim played a major role in the development of Rehabilitation Medicine as a medical specialty in Singapore and has long been involved with physiatry training in many countries in the region. He was President of ARMA (ASEAN Rehabilitation Medicine Association) and is currently the Secretary of ISPRM (International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine).
