This presentation will be a glimpse into the implementation of the first green infrastructure project in the City of Atlanta, Georgia. Participants will gain an understanding of the challenges the city is facing with the increasing amount of impervious surfaces, and how bio-retention cells can impact the reduction of flooding due to stormwater runoff.
Explain the importance of using bio-retention cells in the process of removing contaminants, bacteria, and metals from stormwater runoff.
Predict expected results for the case study, given that the bio-retention project is currently in the initial phase of construction.
