ENGEO Incorporated evaluated a portable temporary barrier product known as “Muscle Wall” for its use in stormwater and erosion control management for two large hillside grading projects: one in San Francisco, CA and the other in Los Angeles, CA. This product case study will discuss Muscle Wall deployment techniques, construction practicability, stability for varying slope conditions and configurations, as well as the ability to reduce turbidity of stormwater discharging from basins created out of the barrier product. Following this presentation, participants will be aware of the product's various uses for their unique construction site.
Visualize how Muscle Wall and other similar temporary barrier system products can be used to manage stormwater and control sediment discharge.
Evaluate whether Muscle Wall would be an effective sediment, stormwater, and erosion control product to use for one's specific construction site based on terrain, weather intensity, risk, and soil type.
Understand what Muscle Wall configurations and placement techniques are most effective for varying slope steepnesses and surface contact types.
