This course will introduce participants to the Envirolok system as a sustainable alternative to hard armoring solution for slope stabilization, riverbank restoration, living shorelines, stream channels and stormwater management projects. The system is designed to provide a permanent vegetative solution for steep slope and waterway. In addition to learning the technical aspects and capabilities of the system, participants will learn to identify typical signs of slope failures, how to select proper vegetation on steep slopes and how to integrate hard armoring systems in more challenging waterway sites. By looking at a variety of case studies, the presentation will detail design process, general project costs, installation process and lessons learned.
Assess the signs and types of slope and bank failures
Select and specify appropriate vegetation and planting methods for slopes and the Envirolok system
Specify and integrate the Envirolok system as a solution for slopes, waterways and living shorelines
