Due to COVID-19, PRIM&R was unable to host its in-person IACUC Conference, April 5-7, in Orlando, FL. While we’re disappointed we could not meet face-to-face, we’re pleased to offer a dynamic, two-day virtual conference on June 16-17, 2020 (all live content will be presented in Eastern Standard Time).
The online conference is geared toward individuals who oversee, administer, and staff animal care and use programs and/or IACUCs; researchers and research staff; federal representatives; industry representatives and other research sponsors; lawyers; ethicists; journalists; animal welfare advocates; and more.
The 2020 IACUC Virtual Conference will provide content in a variety of formats (keynotes, panel presentations, and breakout sessions), and on topics related to engaging the public in discourse around animal research, moving beyond the 3Rs to a more comprehensive framework of principles for research ethics, what happens when a study ends, sex bias in research, an update on the 21st Century Cures Act, and much more.
The Virtual Conference will provide attendees access to livestreamed content, where they can interact with speakers, as well as pre-recorded breakout session content. All live content will be recorded for later access. This online offering will provide over 24 continuing education credit hours (more than our in-person offering!), including those for use in CPIA recertification.
