Renaud Tissier is Professor of Pharmacology and Vice-Dean for Research at the National Veterinary School of Alfort (France). He is specialized in translational research in pharmacology and physiology. Renaud is leading a research group investigating the effect of ultra-fast hypothermia and liquid ventilation in critical situations such as shock, cardiac arrest and severe ischemic injuries. He is named as an inventor of two patent families in this field. He is currently conducting several research programs aiming at deceiphering the pathophysiology of the post-cardiac arrest syndrom, in order to improve patient outcome. Beyond heading several research programs on liquid ventilation and ultra-fast hypothermia, he is also interested in ECMO strategies and noble gas administration.
