Fady Hannah-Shmouni, MD, DABIM, AHSCP, FRCPC is a Clinician Investigator in endocrine genetics and hypertension, and a clinical consultant in internal medicine, hypertension, endocrinology and biochemical genetics at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He completed clinical training in internal medicine at the Yale-New Haven Medical Center (SRC) Program, Yale School of Medicine; adult endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the National Institutes of Health with a focus on endocrine hypertension and genetic disorders under the mentorship of Dr. Constantine A. Stratakis; and clinical biochemical genetics at The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto. Dr Hannah-Shmouni is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada, and clinical hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension. He is the Chief of the internal medicine, endocrinology and genetics patient ward; Principal Investigator on Endocrine Genetics and Hypertension disorders and with Section on Endocrinology & Genetics and Director of Graduate Medical Education in the Office of Education with NICHD, NIH; and Clinician in the Rare Tumor Clinic at NCI, NIH, where he oversees the Carney complex, GIST and MEN2B patient population. His clinical and research interests are on the diagnosis and management of familial endocrinopathies, endocrine hypertension disorders, and late-onset inborn errors of metabolism. He is a Fellow with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; an active committee member of the Endocrine Society Hormone Health Network, the Eastern Europe and Middle East Regional Advisory Group for the International Society of Hypertension, and the 2020 Hypertension Canada Guidelines. Dr Hannah-Shmouni has authored or co-authored over 65 research papers and book chapters and is the Co Editor-In-Chief of Endocrine & Metabolic Science (Elsevier).
