Mountain Diabetes and Endocrine Center
Dr. Wendy Lane is a clinical endocrinologist and Director of Clinical Research at the Mountain Diabetes and Endocrine Center in Asheville, NC. She completed her undergraduate education at Yale University, then attended Dartmouth Medical School, followed by residency in internal medicine at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton, MA, and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.
Dr. Lane has served as investigator for multiple clinical trials for new oral and injectable medications and insulins for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, as well as glucose sensor and insulin pump trials. She has also been the originator of several investigator-initiated trials of U-500 insulin via insulin pump, trials involving combinations of GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy with insulin, and insulin pump trials testing new insulin products. She is best known for her research on high dose insulin therapy.
