Take an hour to tune into your mind and body and explore posture, strength and flexibility. Whether you work form home or in the field, taking time to take care of the body is essential to thriving. In these stressful times, slowing down, connecting with the breath and getting present helps to calm the nervous system and be present in the moment.
The class begins seated with an exploration of the neck and shoulders, where many of us hold tension. The middle works to build strength through standing poses, and we end on the ground stretching hamstrings and low back.
The benefits of yoga are many, including greater muscle strength, increased endurance, more flexibility, improved respiration, reduced joint pain, better posture, and heightened balance and mobility. If you can breathe, you can do yoga! Try the class and do what you can. You have permission to rest in child's pose at any time.
