Sewering in Disadvantaged Communities
Consolidation Programs from the State Perspective (Virtual Presentation)
New law provides the Water Boards the authority to require existing collection systems and drinking water systems to serve surrounding disadvantaged communities. State representatives will talk about the development of the new utility consolidation programs for greater access to safe drinking water and protection of drinking water sources from failing septic systems. Sacramento Area Sewer District will talk about its septic conversion program as a case study for consolidating disadvantaged communities with septic systems to a larger sewer collection system.
