The District’s $13 million, 3rd Street Interceptor Project in Oakland included sliplining 4,700 feet of 105-inch diameter interceptor sewer. Construction was planned over two years using five jacking pits. The contractor completed the work in only one year with three pits. Costs savings were 30% from previous crown lining methods.
Participant will understand what alternatives and methods were used (crown lining and slip lining) for rehabilitation for large diameter sewer in live flow conditions, including lessons learned and costs.
Participant will learn about various mitigation measures used to minimize community impacts.
Participant will learn of what methods the contractor may use to accelerate the project schedule to make it a success.
