Managing Principal Brown and Caldwell Walnut Creek, CA
This presentation describes interesting design features to mitigate issues associated with wet weather secondary system capacity, BNR, nutrient removal, and hydraulics. In addition, an interesting method for starting up the facility will be described in detail, including issues encountered, solutions utilized, and lessons learned.
After participating in this session, participants will be able to describe alternative ways to operate a BNR facility to extend capacity.
After participating in this session, participants will understand the potential to seed a new BNR seed sludge in-situ.
After participating in this session, participants will learn about the impact of activated sludge processes on filterability and recycled water production.
