SVCW Chief Operating Officer
I received my BS Degree in Marine Biology from Humboldt State University in 1985. My Wastewater Treatment expereince began in 1988 as an OIT at the Fiarfield-Suisun Wastewater Treatment Facility. In 1990 I worked as an Operations Shift Supervisor at the City of Vacaville Easterly Treatment Facility then on to the City of Atwater where I began as a Project Manager with Veolia Water. During my tenure with Veolia Water I managed the City of Atwater Wastewater Treatment Facility, Diablo Grande Water Treatment Plant, BAC Groundwater Remediation Facility in Merced, CA and 5- groundwater remediation facilities in the Silicon Valley. From 2008 to 2012 I worked for Siemens Odor Control Dvision as an Area Manager and for Parkson Corporation as the Western Regional Sales Manager for their Aftermarket Division. In 2012 I returned to operations at Silicon Valley Clean Water where I oversee the Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, Environmental Services, and Safety Departments.
One of my passions in the Wastewater Industry is to assist in the development of future wastewater operators. I began as an Adjunct Professor for Solano Community College and Gavilan College teaching Wastewater/Water Treatment classes through the Bay Area Consortium for Water Wastewater Education (BACWWE). Through the classes, I have been honored with mentoring future Operators with 10 currently employed in treatment plants. Throughout my career of mentoring operators, 5 have gone on to be Plant Managers.
People have asked me, "How do you measure your sucess in the Wastewater Industry? My reply, " I do not measure my sucess with my job title, salary, compliance record or years in the business. I beleive my sucess is measured on how well I perform as a Leader developing the future Operators that will succeed me."
