Regional San and SASD
Bob Seyfried is Senior Engineering in the Policy and Planning Department with the Regional San and Sacramento Area Sewer District (SASD). Bob has Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical and Civil Engineering and a Master Degree in Environmental Engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY). Bob has over twenty-seven years of experience in environmental planning, regulatory advocacy and compliance, and in developing various engineering studies and design projects.
Bob is currently leading Regional San’s efforts to implement and renew the NPDES Permit for the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (SRWTP). The SRWTP is a 181 MGD facility current going through a major upgrade known as the ECHOWater Project to transition from secondary treatment to nutrient removal and tertiary treatment.
Bob is also Project Manager for SASD’s Septic to Sewer Program. SASD provides sewer collection service to 1.2 million people in the unincorporated areas of Sacramento County; the cities of Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, and Elk Grove; and portions of the cities of Folsom and Sacramento. With financial assistance through the State Water Board’s Grant Program and Regional San’s and SASD’s Confluence Regional Partnership Program, the Septic to Sewer Program looks to identify disadvantaged communities with failing septic systems and connect the communities to the SASD collection system.
