The Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (181 mgd permitted capacity) was issued an NPDES permit in 2010 that requires significant upgrades ($1.75B). The new system will produce cleaner water for discharge and/or reuse. This curated track will focus on project overview, piloting, funding, asset management, operating efficiencies, innovations, start-up/commissioning, etc.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the overall EchoWater Program (why it was formed, what it will produce, and how did they get there).
Speak to the extent of plant modifications and upgrades required to meet such an NPDES Permit.
Understand how the team balance innovation with risk management.
