Performance Evaluation of Compressible Media Filtration
The schedule and timing of individual presentations within a session is subject to change based on the actual length of each presentation. Contact hours are awarded for attendance at the session and will be given for the actual length of the session.
Associate Engineer Central Contra Costa Sanitary District Martinez, California
Compressible media filtration (CMF) has shown potential to be used for Primary Filtration (PF) as an alternative to conventional primary sedimentation. This presentation will include treatment and hydraulic performance of a demonstration-scale CMF for PF.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to gain a broader understanding of emerging technologies used for advanced primary treatment.
Participants will become familiar with removal mechanisms and unit operations involved in compressible media filtration.
Participants will explore the impact carbon diversion and improved primary treatment performance can have on a facility's power consumption and operational costs.
