Assessing Impact of Food Waste Addition to Liquids Treatment
The schedule and timing of individual presentations within a session is subject to change based on the actual length of each presentation. Contact hours are awarded for attendance at the session and will be given for the actual length of the session.

Using food waste to generate energy at the wastewater treatment plants allows the plant to become energy neutral and potentially, net energy positive. This study assessed the impact of food waste addition to the liquids treatment processes in case where food waste cannot be added directly to the anaerobic digesters.
Learning Objectives:
Modeling food waste through liquids treatment with BioWin and appropriate assumptions would be explained.
The impact of food waste on liquids treatment operation will be discussed including impact of primary and waste activated sludge production.
