Dr. Mazen Abu-Fadel graduated from the American University of Beirut in 1999. After Graduation, he came to Oklahoma City to finish his post graduate training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. During his training, Mazen won multiple awards including Best Intern Award, Best Resident Award as well as being named Chief Fellow in Cardiology. In 2007, Dr. Abu-Fadel joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma ultimately reaching the rank of Presidential Professor of Medicine. During his tenure at OU he held the position of the Vice Chief of the cardiovascular section and served as the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and interventional cardiology. Mazen is very dedicated to teaching and training future physicians and served as the Program Director for the interventional fellowship. Clinical and research interest include vascular access and closure, acute coronary syndromes and endovascular treatment of peripheral and carotid arterial disease. Mazen served as a principle investigator on multiple investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials. In August 2019 Dr. Abu-Fadel joined the Oklahoma Heart Hospital Physician Group, one of the largest groups of cardiology in the united states where he continues to take excellent care of his patients in one of the most highly rated and respected hospital in the nation. Mazen currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Medicine (OU COM) and the site director for the general and interventional cardiology training at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. Dr. Abu-Fadel recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an MBA degree and a certification in entrepreneurship. Mazen lives with his wife and three kids in Edmond, Oklahoma.
