Dr. Alan Zajarias is Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division of Washington University School of Medicine where he also serves Co-Director for the Center of Valvular Heart Disease and the Director for their Structural Interventional Fellowship at Washington University in St Louis. After his cardiology training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Zajarias traveled to Rouen, France to train under the pioneer of the TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) procedure. He then returned to St. Louis and has been performing TAVR procedures for the last 12 years. He also has received numerous awards including the Burton E. Sobel Award for Excellence in Cardiovascular Research.
