Georgia Institute of Technology and Piedmont Heart Institute
Shaefali Padiyar is a rising senior undergraduate Biomedical Engineering major at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and is affiliated with the Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI). She has previously performed research with Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics, exploring the functions and hemodynamic properties of various on-market Transcatheter Aortic Valves (TAVs) in treating Aortic Stenosis. She joined PHI after wanting to experience innovation in cardiology through a more clinical lense. She has been a student researcher with the Piedmont Heart Institute for the past year working under Dr. Mani Vannan, and is currently working as a Research and Development Engineering Intern to the Coronary and Structural Heart division for Medtronic. She hopes to one day explore the intersections of medicine, technology, and public health in her career and attend medical school.
